about my workKathy PineOwner/Designer I have been a jewelry artist for more than 15 years. I am primarily self-taught, learning through play and experimentation. I have taken classes from some of the world’s foremost jewelry artists, including Arline Fisch, an innovator in adapting textile techniques for metal. I use distinctive and intricate techniques to create pieces with style, elegance and a sense of fun. I handcraft every piece of jewelry link by link, adapting traditional patterns of chain maille and wirework to new and unusual forms. My main materials are fair-trade artisan beads, semi-precious gemstones, reclaimed silver and gold and recycled materials. In 2007, a friend introduced me to the concept of fair trade. I immediately embraced it as a way to add a deeper ethical dimension to the work I love. It also helps my customers feel good about buying something beautiful.
